History
Paul TUDOR founded BESTA GROUP in 1991 as a limited liability company, which became in the long run a solid and powerful industrial group, a well-known and respected name in the Romanian industry. The company’s first success exceeded the expectations, taking into consideration that at that time those were the first steps into the market economy.
BESTA GROUP started in the ferroalloys and non-ferrous metals field and has developed its activity by currently distributing a various range of products such as: ferroalloys, non-ferrous metals, pig iron and non-ferrous alloys for the metallurgical industry, machine building industry and for other industrial fields in Romania. BESTA GROUP also distributes steel products, profiles, plates and other metallurgical products for the consumers working in the industry field and in the civil and industrial constructions in Romania.
In 1994, BESTA GROUP built and opened in Bucharest the first ferroalloys and non-ferrous metals private warehouse in Romania.

In the summer of
1998, BESTA GROUP became a joint-stock company by transferring 20% of the social capital from the founder to some of the employees. Today, the TUDOR family owns the entire registered capital of the company.
In November 2006, in the context of the continuous development of rolled steel products trade and to adopt the environmentally friendly policy, BESTA GROUP initiated the action for outsourcing commercial-production activities and opened a new warehouse on DN7, 15 km away from Bucharest, in the industrial area of Buftea town (Sabareni neighborhood), offering nowadays a various range of rolled steel products. The warehouse is equipped with special equipments for loading and unloading, with direct access to the railway and, through the belt line, to the A1 and A2 highways.
In 2007 the management team of the company decided to extend its operational area and also to diversify and expand the range of products. The company invested approximately €1.5 mil so far. That developing stage emphasized BESTA’s addition of the production activity to the trading activity in order to increase profits and attract new customers. BESTA GROUP is also relying on new technology by extending its activity by developing new investments matching the EU requirements in the field.
At the end of 2008, BESTA GROUP built and opened a modern production hall of approximately 1,300sqm, equipped with offices and the afferent dependences, a power crane of 18 tf capacity, trucks, a construction destined for metallurgical processing specific operations.
Finalizing the developing stages allowed externalizing the commercial and production activities in the industrial area of the city, 15 minutes away from the city. The investments have lead to obtaining a powerful and capable hi-tech distribution base, which could compete with the greatest competitors, offering our customers a broader range of metallurgical products
In 2007-2008, the BESTA headquarters was modernized, by renovation of the office spaces and changes of architecture. BESTA became an attraction point in an area in continuous development.
