OBTAINED:
- generally, from sulfurous concentrates, by melting for the matt form, followed by concretization and blister copper obtaining (approximately 97.5% Cu). After thermal refining of converter copper, we obtain heat refined copper (approx. 99% Cu), followed by final purification by electrolysis up to min. 99.95% Cu.
USAGE:
- it is used especially in electrical cables form for electricity transmission or in windings for electric motors. A large share in copper consumption is the manufacture of various brands of alloys (brass, bronze).
- in civil and industrial constructions, mainly used as installation pipes or roof boards.
PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES: - red-brick color metal, ductile with high thermal and electrical conductivity.
