OBTAINED:
- generally, to obtain metallic chromium, chromite minerals are used to obtain in the first stage the chromium oxide, which is then reduced with aluminum powder (aluminothermy), resulting different concentrations of metallic chromium (91% , 98%, 98.5%, 99% Cr). -min 99.5% Chromium is obtained by electrolytic refining, resulting the chromium "flakes".

USAGE: - it is used to obtain stainless steels and for anticorrosion protection of steel objects (hard chroming and fine chroming).
                   
PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES: - silver-white metal, heavy fusible, high hardness and fragile in the presence of carbon.
