BESTA Challenge Cup, the third edition, has a winner!
BESTA Sports Club Bucharest - Archery Division - organized on September 19th, 2009, the third edition of BESTA Challenge Cup, event included in the competition calendar of the Romanian Archery Federation.
The winner of the third edition is Razvan MARCU - 4th place worldwide this year- room World Championships - Poland, Olympic Division.
The program included competitive racing in all classes, males and females, individuals and teams, the Olympic divisions and traditional bow.
The participants at the third edition of the BESTA –Challenge Cup were athletes representing sports clubs in Bucharest and from all over the country, affiliated with the Romanian Archery Federation: |

Among the 60 entries submitted in this competition, professionals and amateurs, there were also valuable athletes, such as:
- Daniel MARCU - Miner Aninoasa Sports Club - 4th place worldwide this year- room World Championships - Poland, Olympic Division. Daniel MARCU is the first junior who succeeded to pass the 1300 points for an international competition, namely the Korea / Ulsan World Outdoor Championships in September 2009.
- Alexandru BODNAR – Radauti School Sports Club and Suceava Municipal Sports Club - our representative at the Olympic Games in Beijing last year.
- Gigi PUSCA - Minerul Aninoasa Sports Club – his best result in 2009: 1372 points, compound division; Gigi PUSCA is the player with the most national records this year; 6th place - individually and 4th place - team at Grand Prix - Sofia in 2009.

Based on their results, Daniel MARCU and Alexandru BODNAR are our team members for the Olympic Games in 2012.
Razvan MARCU, the winner of the third edition of Besta Challenge Cup, said: “It was a tough and demanding competition, for which I trained very hard. Each competition requires much training and many hours of exercise. I hope to be present at the Besta Challenge Cup’s next edition and to also succeed and obtain good results at my future international competitions".
Paul TUDOR, President of Besta Sports Club and Honorary President of Romanian Archery Federation said: “It was a successful event. I am glad to see that every each edition brings together more and more players from many clubs, sponsors and media representatives. We shall continue to support and promote this wonderful and noble sport, both through the events we organize, as well as support given to athletes in international competitions."
The event was organized by BESTA Bucharest Sports Club, in collaboration with the Romanian Archery Federation, with the support of Besta Group SA and sustained with prizes and promotional materials offered by HOFIGAL company (effort sustainers), Eurostil Sports Club and Bucharest Sport Directorate.
