Crude steel production revival Solicita detalii

In January 2010, crude steel production in Romania increased by 91.9% compared to the similar period in 2009, to 284 thousand tons, while world production has registered an advance of 25.5% to 109 mil.t ., according to World Steel Association’s estimations. In January 2009, the Romanian steel industry has produced 148 thousand tons of crude steel, while, in December, the production was of 231 thousand tons. The full year 2009 Romanian steel production decreased by 45.2% to 2.76 mil.t., Romania being the 37th crude steel producer in the world. Within the European Union, in January 2010, steel production increased by 33.7% to 13.48 mil.t., Greece being the only country with negative evolution, with a decline of 42% meaning a production of 105 thousand tons. The most important producer in the EU was Germany, with 3.4 mil.t., up by 27.7% compared to January 2009. China remained the world leader in January, with 48.7 mil.t., up by 18.2%, followed by Japan with 8.72 mil.t., and U.S. with 6 mil.t. Japanese production increased by 36.8% in the first months of 2010, while the U.S. production increased by 48.8% comparing to 2009 year.
